The CEO husband commanded, "Get a divorce, and you'll receive $10 million.
"Without revealing that she was pregnant, she agreed and moved abroad to start a new life. This left the husband completely shocked."
Chapter 1: Betrayal in the Dark
The piercing ring of her phone broke the quiet in Alana Tavares' apartment. She grabbed it, her heart racing when she saw HeloÃsa's name on the screen.
"Alana, help! Something terrible happened to me at the nightclub!" HeloÃsa's voice was shaky and desperate.
Before Alana could say anything, the call ended. She rushed out of her apartment, fear and urgency driving her. Her best friend needed her.
The nightclub's bright, flashing lights lit up the dark street. Alana pushed through the crowd, clutching the address HeloÃsa had sent her: Room 808.
She stopped at the door, taking a deep breath before pushing it open. Darkness swallowed the room. The air felt heavy, and before she could react, a substantial hand grabbed her wrist and pulled her inside. The door slammed shut behind her.
"Who are you? What do you want?" Alana shouted, trying to stay brave.
A deep voice whispered in her ear, "Stay calm, and I won't hurt you."
She struggled, but the man was too strong. The next hour was a blur of fear and helplessness. When she finally stumbled out of the room, her body shook, and her mind raced. But her first thought was still of HeloÃsa.
As she reached for her phone, laughter caught her attention. She turned and froze. A group of people was leaving through a side door. Among them were two familiar faces: HeloÃsa and Erica, her half-sister, walking arm in arm and laughing as if nothing had happened.
"HeloÃsa!" Alana's voice was loud, full of anger.
The two women stopped and turned. Alana marched toward them, her fists clenched.
"Why did you lie to me?" she asked, her voice trembling.
HeloÃsa smirked. "You're just too easy to fool, Alana."
Erica's grin was wicked. "Did you enjoy your time in there? I have all the proof I need to show Daddy how ‘innocent’ you are."
Alana's stomach dropped as the truth hit her. They had set her up. HeloÃsa’s eyes were cold as she said, "I've hated you since we met. You're always in the spotlight, and I’m always in your shadow."
