The CEO's Game: A Love Bound by Power

Chapter 1: Locked Doors and Green Eyes

Vashti's head swam as the faint buzz of alcohol clouded her senses. She leaned against the nightclub wall, steadying herself. The neon lights painted her flushed cheeks in hues of blue and pink, an otherworldly glow that danced across the room.

She stumbled toward the bathroom, her heels clicking against the sticky floor. A sharp pang of frustration surged as she found the door locked.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” she muttered under her breath, tapping her fingers against the wall. Min utes crawled by before impatience took over. Vashti knocked on the door, her irritation slipping into her voice. “Hello? Are you going to take much longer?”

There was no response—just a faint, muffled sound. She leaned closer, pressing her ear to the cool wood. A low groan filtered through, unmistakably male. Her brow furrowed. The rhythmic shuffling of clothes and the metallic click of a zipper followed. Her cheeks flushed hot as realization dawned.

“Seriously? Of all places?” she hissed, crossing her arms.

The door creaked open, and a tall, statuesque blonde emerged. Her lipstick was smeared, and she had a mischievous grin on her face as she locked eyes with Vashti.

“Party pooper,” the woman teased, brushing past her and tapping her shoulder.

Vashti’s jaw clenched. “Spare me,” she muttered, stepping toward the bathroom. The air still carried hints of cologne and something else. She hadn’t even fully crossed the threshold when her gaze locked onto a pair of green eyes she’d recognize anywhere.

“No,” she whispered, her pulse quickening. “It’s not possible.”

The man leaned casually against the sink, his hands tucked into his pockets. That infuriating sideways smirk curled his lips, and a spark of disdain flickered in his eyes.

“You again,” he said, his voice smooth but laced with mockery. “Don’t you ever give up?”

Her mouth fell open, but no words came. The weight of his gaze pinned her to the spot. When she finally found her voice, it carried sharp indignation.

“Excuse me?” Vashti snapped, her brows knitting together. “What are you trying to insinuate?”

He scoffed, glancing around the room before meeting her eyes again. “I hate women who play dumb. If you want me so badly, say so. No need for games or stalking.”
