The CEO's Game: A Love Bound by Power

Peering through the peephole, her breath caught. Adonis stood on the other side, his expression unreadable. “I know you’re home, Vashti,” his deep voice carried through the door.

Her first instinct was to ignore him, but anger surged. She threw open the door, ready to unleash her fury.

Before she could speak, his lips were on hers, silencing her protest. His hands gripped her waist, pulling her closer as the door closed behind him. Vashti’s mind screamed in confusion, but her body melted against him, betraying her resolve.

When he finally pulled away, his turquoise eyes locked onto hers. “I couldn’t stay away,” he admitted, his voice low. “You’re driving me insane.”

Vashti’s hands pressed against his chest, her mind racing. “You have no right to just show up here,” she said, her voice trembling with anger and something she didn’t want to name.

Adonis smirked, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “I have every right. You’re mine now.”

Her eyes narrowed, her defiance flaring. “I’m not yours. I need this job, but that doesn’t mean you own me.”

Adonis leaned in, his breath warm against her ear. “We’ll see about that, Miss Phillips.”

As he pulled back, his expression softened. “You’re right. I crossed a line. But I’m not done with you yet.”

Vashti swallowed hard, her emotions a tangled mess. She wasn’t sure what scared her more—his audacity or her reaction. As he stepped back toward the door, he paused, turning to give her one last smirk. “Don’t keep me waiting too long.”

And with that, he was gone, leaving Vashti standing in the quiet of her apartment, her heart pounding and her thoughts a chaotic storm.
