The CEO's Game: A Love Bound by Power

She sent Heidi the finalized document and gathered her belongings. As she stood, Adonis appeared in the hallway, his disheveled hair and loosened tie giving him an air of dangerous allure. The top two buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing just a hint of his toned chest. Vashti swallowed hard, unsure of what to say.

“Ready?” he asked, his voice casual but his eyes intense.

She nodded, and he motioned for her to follow. They rode the elevator silently, the air heavy with unspoken tension between them. Cameras dotted the corners of the elevator, ensuring nothing untoward could happen, but Vashti could feel the heat of his presence.

Adonis led her to his car in the underground garage, the exact sleek vehicle from the night before. He unlocked it with a button, gesturing for her to get in. The soft leather interior and the faint scent of his cologne enveloped her as she settled into the passenger seat.

As they pulled out of the garage, his hand found her thigh, resting there lightly before giving it a playful slap. Vashti gasped, the unexpected sting making her jump slightly.

“Oh!” she exclaimed, looking at him with wide eyes.

He smirked, his eyes briefly flicking to hers before returning to the road. “We’ll get along perfectly, Miss Phillips.”

Her mind reeled. Adonis was unlike anyone she’d ever met. His confidence, his dominance—it both terrified and intrigued her. She’d had a serious boyfriend once, but their relationship had ended disastrously, leaving her wary of intimacy. And yet, she was drawn to this man who seemed to embody everything she thought she didn’t want.

“Are you thinking about something?” Adonis asked, his voice breaking her train of thought.

She hesitated, biting her lip. “I… I should probably tell you something.”

His brow furrowed slightly. “Go on.”

She took a deep breath, steeling herself. “I’ve never… I’m a virgin.”

The car swerved slightly as Adonis pulled onto the shoulder, his knuckles white as he gripped the steering wheel. He stared ahead momentarily, his jaw clenched, before turning to her.

“What?” he asked, his voice low and strained. “What did you say?”

“I’m a virgin,” she repeated, her voice steadier this time.

Adonis exhaled sharply, his frustration and disbelief evident. He started the car again without another word, turning onto a familiar street. Vashti realized with a sinking feeling that they were headed back to her apartment.

He stopped the car in front of her building, his eyes fixed on the steering wheel. “You should get out,” he said curtly.

Her heart sank. “What? I don’t understand…”

“I don’t fuck virgins,” he said bluntly, his voice cold. “They’re a hassle. Clingy. Always wanting things I don’t offer. Commitment, marriage… I’m not interested in any of that. Now, get out.”

Vashti stared at him, her disbelief turning to anger. As she got out, she slammed the door behind her, her emotions a storm of humiliation and fury. Adonis didn’t look back as he drove away, leaving her standing under the streetlights, questioning everything that had just happened.
