The CEO's Game: A Love Bound by Power

Her stomach dropped. A surge of heat rushed to her face, fueled by equal parts anger and embarrassment.

“Are you out of your mind?” she nearly shouted. “Me, stalking you? For your information, I came here with my friends. This is our spot. And…and it’s your fault I’m even in this situation! You got me fired, remember?”

His eyebrow arched, amusement dancing in his expression. She forged on, her voice growing louder.

“You think bumping into you gives you the right to ruin someone’s life? And now you’re accusing me of chasing you? Get over yourself!”

His smirk deepened, and before she could react, his hand shot out, gripping her wrist. Her protests caught in her throat as he pulled her into the bathroom and shut the door with a resounding click. Her back pressed against the door, the wood cool against her skin.

“What are you…” she began, but her words dissolved as his lips captured hers. The kiss was searing, leaving no room for protest. One of his hands pinned her wrists above her head while the other gripped her waist with possessive force. Her breath hitched as his knee nudged between her legs, leaving her helpless and overwhelmed by the intensity of it all.

A knock on the door shattered the moment.

“Vashti? You in there?” Fernanda’s voice called out.

The man didn’t release her immediately. He let go slowly, as though savoring the moment and placed her trembling hand against his chest. His other hand brushed against her flushed cheek.

“I-I’m coming!” Vashti stammered, her voice unsteady.

“You should head home,” he murmured, his voice low and hoarse. “You wouldn’t want to be late tomorrow.”

Her brows furrowed. “Late? For what?”

His lips quirked into a smirk. “Your first day back. You’re my new secretary, after all.”

Her eyes widened as realization struck.

“You…you’re my boss?” she breathed.

“Correction. Your reinstated boss,” he said, kissing her neck briefly before stepping back. “No delays.”

And with that, he was gone, leaving Vashti to gather her wits. Her legs felt like jelly as she stumbled out of the bathroom and went to the table where Fernanda and Will waited.

Fernanda’s smile faded as she took in Vashti’s disheveled appearance. “What happened? Did someone corner you?” she asked, her tone protective.

Vashti shook her head. “I just… I need to go. I can’t be late tomorrow.”

“Late? For what?” Fernanda pressed.

“I got my job back,” Vashti muttered, placing a bill on the table and leaning in to kiss Fernanda’s cheek. Without another word, she turned and left, her mind racing.

A voice stopped her as she stepped out into the cool night air.

“A woman like you, alone at this hour? Dangerous, don’t you think?”

The familiar baritone sent a shiver down her spine. Slowly, she turned, her heart pounding as she met those unmistakable green eyes again.
